Rilya Alert Hasani Campbell

Hasani Campbell

5 year old

Missing Oakland California

Has Cerebral Palsy

Missing 08/10/2009

OAKLAND -- -- The mysterious disappearance of a young boy with cerebral palsy Monday afternoon spurred Oakland police to a desperate search in the hopes of finding his whereabouts, according to authorities.

More than a dozen officers fanned out in the area around College Avenue and Harwood in Oakland's Rockridge neighborhood searching for 5-year-old Hasani Campbell. The Alameda County Sheriff's rescue team joined the search with dogs.

Police said they received a call for help at about 4 p.m. from the boy's father. He told officers he drove his son to Shuz of Rockridge, a shoe store, where the boy's mother works so he could leave the child in her care.

Police said the father left the boy in a BMW in the back lot of the store while he walked around to the front, and went through the store the back door. He told police he then realized his son was gone.

"He frantically searched the neighborhood asking people if they've seen his son and nobody can find him," said Sgt. Rich Vierra of the Oakland Police Department.

Police say Hasani couldn't have gone far on his own because he suffers from cerebral palsy and wears braces on both legs.

Investigators say they fear he was either kidnapped or is frightened and hiding somewhere.

Vierra said, "Our worst fear is that he's gone somewhere, he's lost, frightened, hurt himself. We want to find him before anything like that happens."

They described him as African-American, small for his age, 3 feet tall and weighing 40 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweat pants.

Patrons at the nearby Barclay's Restaurant and Pub said they were asked by police not to leave the establishment for about 30 minutes when the canine search got under way.

Katie Decarlo said, "For a period of time, they didn't want anyone leaving any of the businesses because that would have thrown off the scent."

Police are asking people in the area to check their backyards and basements for any sign of Hasani. "They can walk up to him, talk to him, call 911. Hopefully reunite him with his family

Classification: Lost, Injured, Missing

Vital Statistics

Date Of Birth: November 6, 1983
Age at Time of Disappearance: 5 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 4'0" (122 cm); 50 lbs (23 kg)
Distinguishing Characteristics: Black female. Black hair; black eyes.

She was last seen at her home on February 10, 1989 and has not been seen since.
Her 26-year-old mother, Valerie Gunnel, was found beaten to death with a tire iron in the family's apartment. Shemaeah and her 9-month-old sister, LeCresha Gunnel (sometimes called "LeCresha Kirklin"), were missing. LaCresha's body was found floating in an irrigation canal in Mexico six days later. The baby had also been beaten to death.
Alvie Copeland Kiles, Valerie's live-in boyfriend, was convicted of murdering all three members of the Gunnel family and was sentenced to death.
Prosecutors believe he killed Valerie because she would not give him money to buy cocaine, then killed the children because they began screaming. His conviction was later overturned on the grounds that he had an inadequate defense, but he was convicted again of three counts of murder and two counts of child abuse in 2000. Kiles is awaiting execution.

Rilya Alert Daisja Weaver

Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 8-month-old girl, Daisja Weaver.

The girl's mother, Tamera Weaver, told the Dallas police that the child was taken at about 11:30 Tuesday evening after she fought off a sexual assualt in her home at the Preston Oaks Apartments.

Nearly 12 hours later, the Amber Alert was issued. Police intially launched a full-scale search on foot and by helicopter, but they have not located the child.

The Dallas Police Department said they did not issue an Amber Alert initially because the missing child did not meet the department's criteria for issuing an Amber Alert. They didn't explain their reasoning further.

Early Wednesday morning, the woman and her husband were being questioned by police who said some elements of the story had changed.

Investigators are now working to sort out the facts in the case while continuing to search for the missing girl.

Family members told NBCDFW that the baby, who was born premature, is physically challenged. The child's mother was taken to the hospital for minor injuries Tuesday night and was later released

Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 3' 0" - 91 cm; 44 lbs - 20 kg
Distinguishing Characteristics: Black female. Black hair; brown eyes.

AKA: Shante Marie Reid

Circumstances of Disappearance
Shanta and her adoptive mother visited Briarcliffe Mall in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on July 19, 1992. The mother told authorities that Shanta disappeared near the toy department of the K-Mart store inside the shopping center during the afternoon hours. They were visiting from Cumberland County, N.C. The couple had begun adoption proceedings for the child and her younger brother three months earlier. Shanta, formerly Shante Reid was born in Wilmington to a mother addicted to drugs. The baby tested positive for cocaine at birth.
A review of store surveillance tapes showed that the adoptive mother entered the store alone.
On May 5, 1992, a doctor examined Shanta and pronounced her in excellent health. A month later, Shanta was seen by doctors at Duke University Medical Center for health problems associated with her birth.
According to the records the doctors at Duke noticed physical and mental problems, including bruises, scratches and extreme fear in a child who previously had appeared to be extroverted. She had bitten her fingernails so severely that her fingertips bled.
No charges has been filed in Shanta's disappearance. FBI and Horry County investigators suspect that Shanta never entered South Carolina.

Rilya Alert Cleashindra Denise Hall

Cleashindra Denise Hall
Date of Birth - 6/30/76
Date Missing - 5/9/94
Missing from - Pine Bluff, AR
L.E.A. - Pine Bluff Police Dept.
Contact - Det. Lt. Terry Hopson
Telephone Number - (501)543-5112

May 9, 1994 started off like any ordinary day. Eighteen year old Cleashindra Hall-Clea to her friends and family, left her home for her clerical job with Dr. Larry Amos, a dentist in Pine Bluff, AR. At around 8:00, Clea called her mother to check in. It was the last time Laurell Hall would ever hear from her daughter. Dr. Amos told police investigators that the young woman left around 8:30, but he didn't see who she left with.

Cleashindra Hall was, by all accounts, an extraordinary young woman. Valedictorian of her class at Watson Chapel High School, she was scheduled to give the commencement address at her graduation two weeks after her disappearance. She was excited about leaving to attend Memphis State University. Active in her church and in the school choir and band, she hoped to become a pediatrician. Her future was bright and her potential was limitless.

In the almost 13 years since her disappearance, Laurell Hall has worked tirelessly to make sure that Clea's name stays in the front of people's minds, but it's been a struggle, she says. "People have forgotten." Still, she publishes the familiar pictures in the local newspaper every month, hoping that someone's conscience will tug at them and she will finally know what happened to her daughter. "It's hard to imagine that nobody seems to know where she is, or if they do, they won't come forward." The once yearly prayer vigils have faded away, replaced by private family remembrances.

Particularly frustrating is the lack of resources available to parents of missing adults. Because Clea was 18 at the time she disappeared, the Hall family was not eligible for the same services as the parents of younger missing children. In spite of the efforts of Clea's mother, her case has never attracted the attention of the national media.

Rilya Alert JALIEK L RAINWALKER

JALIEK L RAINWALKER
Case Type: Endangered Missing
DOB: Aug 2, 1995 Sex: Male
Missing Date: Nov 1, 2007 Race: Biracial
Age Now: 13 Height: 5'6" (168 cm)
Missing City: GREENWICH Weight: 105 lbs (48 kg)
Missing State : NY Hair Color: Brown

GREENWICH -- Police looked for Jaliek L. Rainwalker. Rainwalker was last seen on Thursday evening, when his father, Stephen B. Kerr, told him to go to sleep around 9 p.m., police said.

He was reported missing Friday morning at about 9 a.m., police said.

Rainwalker's father went to check on his son once, around 7 a.m. Friday morning, and the boy appeared to be in his bed.

Greenwich Police Chief George Bell said the boy put articles in his bed to make it appear that he was there.

When Kerr went in to wake his son shortly after first looking into the room, he realized the boy was missing.

Police believe Rainwalker to be a runaway, and because of criteria for Amber Alerts involving immediate danger, an alert wasn't requested, Bell said.

Police would not comment about whether they believed foul play to be involved.

A note and a piece of paper with the word, "Albany," were found on the kitchen table at Kerr's parents' home, where the two were spending the night, said Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell.

The paper appeared to be the type of sign a hitchhiker might hold, Bell said.

The note sparked the interest of police, but Bell wouldn't discuss Rainwalker's letter further, other than to say it could have been taken several different ways.

The note read, "Dear Everybody, I'm sorry for everything. I won't bother you anymore. Goodbye, Jaliek," said Rainwalker's mother, Jocelyn McDonald. "Initially, I interpreted it as a runaway note. But then later in the day, you're going around and around -- 'Where could he be? Where could he be?' -- that I thought it could be suicidal," McDonald said. "It's very scary to think he would hurt himself and not have anybody around to help him."

Rainwalker had been in trouble for threatening a younger child and didn't want to face consequences, McDonald said.

The threat is what sparked the overnight stay at Kerr's parent's house while his parents were out of town. McDonald wanted to be sure Rainwalker wouldn't hurt one of their other four children, she said.

Rainwalker has a history of violence and has a medical condition that involves homicidal and suicidal tendencies, Bell said.

Rainwalker has never attempted suicide, but has spoken about the subject, McDonald said.

The boy was not on medication at the time of his disappearance, Bell said. He does not have an arrest record, according to police. McDonald said Rainwalker entered her home at the age of 7 as a foster child, and was adopted when he was 9. He was described as a troubled child with a hard past, who also had a charming side.

At the time of his disappearance, Rainwalker's parents were trying to find him psychiatric help.

"Believe it or not, it's really difficult to find services in this area," McDonald said.

Rainwalker, who likes skateboarding, books and music, is a home-schooled student and has two half-brothers in the Albany area. Rainwalker met them once, during a supervised visit about two and a half years ago, Bell said.

Police are concerned that Rainwalker hasn't turned up yet, and with dropping temperatures, the boy may be in danger.

"It's cold, he's hungry. He doesn't have money," Bell said. "He hasn't surfaced. That bothers me.

"It's not your average runaway. Right now, it's been too long, in my opinion. He's got to come in, he's got to get warm."

Police were planning to distribute fliers, Bell said.

Rainwalker may be wearing black sneakers, blue jeans and a yellow fleece pullover, according to the "missing child" flier.

He has golden skin and lime-green eyes, McDonald said.

The search for the boy will continue today.

Anyone with information regarding the location of Rainwalker is asked to contact the Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department at 692-9332.

Rilya Alert Rochelle Denise Battle

Baltimore County police are asking for the public's help in finding a missing teenager. Police say the last time 16-year-old Rochelle Denise Battle had contact with her family was on Friday, March 6.

Battle's disappearance was first reported to police in Baltimore City and later to county police when information showed she might have been in the county.

Investigators initially thought information might be found in a trash collection facility in the 200 block of Earls Road in Essex. A search of the area, however, turned up no information about the girl.

Police say Battle was in the area on the night of March 6 and might have taken a bus from the Eastpoint Mall area to the intersection of Eastern Boulevard and Old Eastern Avenue.

Battle is described as a black female, 5'1" to 5'3" tall, 170-190 pounds. When she was last seen, she was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and boots that came just below her knees. She was not attending school at the time of her disappearance.

Rilya Alert Alexis S Patterson

Alexis S Patterson

Missing 05/03/2002

Milwaukee Wisconsin

DOB :apr-04-1995 Age :12 years
Height : 3' 8" - 112 cm
Weight : 42 lbs - 19 kg
Eyes :Brown Hair : Black

Patterson resided with her mother and stepfather, Ayanna and LaRon Bourgeois, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. LaRon walked Patterson to Hi-Mount Boulevard School in the 4920 block of West Garfield Avenue near 49th Street at approximately 8:00 a.m. on May 3, 2002. Patterson was a first-grade student there. The school is less than one block from the family's home. LaRon said that he watched Patterson walk towards the playground before he headed back to their residence. Patterson never attended classes during the day, although students reported seeing her on the playground before and after school. She has never been heard from again. Patterson was wearing a hooded gray-striped red jacket, a light purple blouse, jeans, white high-top Nike tennis shoes and diamond and gold sunflower-shaped earrings at the time of her disappearance. Her hair was styled in two French braids which were pulled back into a ponytail, and she was carrying a pink Barbie book bag.
Ayanna and LaRon were notified about Patterson's absence after her school dismissed in the afternoon. They initially believed she refused to attend classes because of an argument she had with her mother. Ayanna said that Patterson failed to properly complete her homework during the previous evening. She was not allowed to bring cupcakes for her classmates the following day as a result. Authorities agreed with the scenario and said that something may caused Patterson's disappearance after she was seen in the school's playground later in the day. She does not have a history as a runaway.
The surrounding areas were searched immediately after Patterson was reported missing. Investigators canvassed nearby Washington Park while divers searched its lagoon. Authorities focused on areas near Meinecke Avenue, Vine Street, 16th Street and 60th Street in the northwest section of the city. No evidence was discovered at any of the locations. Investigators announced that Patterson disappeared under suspicious circumstances and reclassified her case from a missing child to a criminal investigation by May 14.
Patterson's father, Kenya Campbell, was imprisoned in Milwaukee at the time of her disappearance. He was released shortly afterwards and cooperated with authorities, as did Ayanna and LaRon. Patterson's stepfather has a criminal history as well, but investigators announced that they did not believe either LaRon or Campbell's pasts were connected to her case. LaRon was charged for an unrelated crime in 2003, a year after Patterson's disappearance; he had a domestic dispute with Ayanna, who had been trying to leave him for some time, and was ordered to stay away from her. Ayanna says LaRon was abusive and threatening towards her. The criminal charges were later dropped, however. Ayanna and LaRon have since separated and moved away from the Milwaukee area.
An anonymous caller contacted a Milwaukee television station in August 2002 and claimed that Patterson's remains were disposed in the Milwaukee River near Estabrook Park. Dive teams searched the area, but no evidence related to Patterson's disappearance was discovered. Investigators announced that foul play was suspected in her case in September 2002. They searched a vacant house in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on a tip from a prisoner in 2005, but turned up nothing.Patterson's disappearance remains unsolved.

Kenneth Andrew Lynch

54-year-old Portia Washington has been missing along with her seven-year-old granddaughter, Angelica Livingston. Kenneth Andrew Lynch, Washington's 46-year-old boyfriend, has been unaccounted for much of that time.

Two days ago he did show up near El Paso, Texas, driving Washington's car, alone.

West Columbia Police Chief Dennis Tyndall says, "Well, obviously we're handling it as a missing persons case. But also on the other hand we're handling it in case there's some foul play involved. There's enough smoke there to make us believe that foul play could be involved. We haven't got to that point yet to say it is."

Lynch was stopped for speeding. Tyndall says Lynch told the trooper he was delivering the car to its owner in Arizona. That was clearly not true.

All three live at Park Place apartments in West Columbia. Police say the lease is paid up and the apartment is in good condition.

Washington and Lynch both work at Bob Bennett Ford. Neither one called to explain why they weren't coming in to work.

Washington's mom told police she usually talks with her daughter several times a day, but hasn't heard from her since .

Washington's phone has been turned off. Chief Tyndall sees that as a bad sign, "It's very unusual for her not to tell her employer if she's not there and unusual for her to turn her phone off. Her friends and neighbors say, her family say that she usually has that phone on at all times."

The trio lived in Cayce's Riverland Park neighborhood. Neighbor Anthony Allen says the couple did not always get along, "Quite often they had disputes. I remember one night about 3:00, 4:00 in the morning I heard the police over there, Cayce police. And she was actually sleeping in a car, in her car. And the little girl was too."

Police filed no charges. Chief Tyndall is not jumping to conclusions, "Sometimes some people just want to disappear for a while, domestic relations or whatever. So it could be anywhere from that to something worse. We don't know. That's what we're trying to find out."

Washington's car is a tan 2005 Ford Focus, South Carolina plate 682-SEH, last seen in west Texas, a long way from West Columbia.

Rilya Kendrick Jackson

Height: 3'0" (91 cm)
Eyes: Brown
Race: Black
Age Now: 5
Sex: Male
Weight: 35 lbs (16 kg)
Hair: Black
Missing From:
HOUSTON
TX
United States
Kendrick was last seen at home on April 7, 2006. When he was last seen, he was wearing a white t-shirt and pajama shorts with pictures of baseballs and footballs on them.

A witness was going to work this morning at about 9:30 or so when she got caught up in the traffic heading southbound on Wilcrest, just across from where the missing child lives and she saw a child in his sleep pajamas with a black male.

The witness told police that the boy and the man were standing at a Metro bus stop, Number 19 Metro Line, Wilcrest Crosstown.

Police are seeking the public's help in finding the young boy and ask that they call the Juvenile or Homicide Division of HPD. Police said they received a call around 11:25 p.m. requesting a check on the child's welfare. The boy was missing from the Canfield Falls Apartments in the 1200 block of Wilcrest in west Houston.

"He must have just opened the door and gone out looking for his father and didn't know he was in the apartment. I just want him back," said the child's mother.

Update

Houston police charged Kendrick's father, Roderick Terrell Fountain, with injury to a child and filing a false police report. He is considered a suspect in the boy's disappearance. The injury to a child charge was filed because of bruises spotted on Kendrick prior to his disappearance, officials said.

Fountain was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning but it was reset to next month. He is being held without bail.

Investigators said Fountain has told authorities several different stories since Kendrick disappeared, including accounting for his time between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday.

Child Protective Services ordered that Fountain have no contact with his 3-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter that he has with his current wife. He has six other children as well with women who are evacuees from Hurricane Katrina. CPS officials would like those mothers to contact them because they want to check on the welfare of those children.

Riyla Alert Brittany Renee WIlliams

Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance

Missing Since: August 18, 2000 from Richmond, Virginia
Classification: Endangered Missing
Date of Birth: March 20, 1993
Age: 7 years old
Height and Weight: 3'8, 65 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Black hair, brown eyes. Williams is biracial, African-American and Caucasian. She has a light complexion and scars on her face from chicken pox. Williams also has a tube inserted into her chest.
Medical Conditions: Williams has acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Because of this she is extremely susceptible to illness. She is great need of medical attention.

Details of Disappearance
Williams's mother gave her to the custody of a guardian, Kim Parker, in 1996, when Williams was three years old. A photograph of Parker is posted below this case summary. Williams's mother died of AIDS a short time later. She and Parker had met through Rainbow Kids Inc., a charity that provides long-term care for children with AIDS. Parker cares for two other children infected with AIDS. She claims she gave Williams over to the care of a friend named Linda Hodges in August 2000 because caring for her had become too stressful. Hodges returned for Christmas that year with Williams and a friend of hers called Kathie Evans, then left again with the child. Parker says she paid Jones $3,000 cash to take Williams and later mailed her another $5,000, but she has not heard from either Jones or Williams since December 2000. The last person besides Parker to see Williams was a doctor whom Williams visited in August 2000.
Williams's disappearance was not discovered by authorities until January 2003. Parker said she did not know the addresses of the women allegedly caring for the child; she only said that she thought they were in California. Parker continued to collect the child's $500 monthly benefit check from the Department of Children and Families until the summer of 2002, using the money to renovate her home. She says she expects Williams to come home.
When law enforcement discovered that Williams had been missing over two years, custody of her was given over to the local Social Services Department and they were ordered to find her. She is considered endangered. In February 2003, Parker was ordered to serve 20 days in jail for contempt of court in connection with her failure to tell police where Williams is. She has hired a lawyer, who is appealing on the grounds Parker cannot tell the authorities what she does not know. In April 2003, Parker was indicted on 73 felony charges, mostly fraud and money laundering, relating to Williams's case. Police say she accepted over $16,000 from private individuals and the government for the care of Williams when the girl was not living in her home, and that she illegally attempted to conceal the sources of the money. On the advice of her attorney, Parker pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of wire fraud in July 2003. She was then charged with three counts of medical-assistance payment fraud, for allowing Williams's Medicaid payments to continue needlessly. She could face up to a hundred years total if given the maximum sentences for all charges.
In late March 2003, authorities tracked down the two women Parker says she gave Williams to. Neither Hodges nor Evans had ever had custody of Williams or knew where she was. They were both volunteers with Rainbow Kids Inc. and had actually been planning to have Williams visit them in California, but the plans had not been finalized by the time she disappeared. They have joined in the search for her.
In May 2003, authorities thoroughly searched Parker's home and drained her septic system, looking for Williams's remains or any sign that she had died there. A neighbor claimed she reported Parker twice for abusing and/or neglecting Williams, and Hodges says she reported Parker as well. However, nothing fruitful was found at the residence.
Police are considering a possible link between Williams and Precious Doe, an unidentified African-American girl whose naked and decapitated remains were discovered in Kansas City park in 2001. Composite images of the child are shown below this case summary. Despite widespread publicity, including a profile on the television crime show America's Most Wanted, Precious Doe has never been identified. When they discovered her remains, the authorities believed she was between three and six years old. Williams was seven at the time of her disappearance, but she is of petite stature and could pass for a younger child. At the time of her 2000 disappearance, Williams was about the same height as Precious Doe. Those who know Williams, however, say she did not have a birthmark on her shoulder or a chipped tooth. Precious Doe had both of these characteristics. In addition, Precious Doe had a dark complexion; Williams has a light complexion.
DNA tests were conducted on Precious Doe, using a sample from an incarcerated man who claims to be Williams's father. His name is on her birth certificate as the father; however, paternity was never legally established. The DNA from the man did not match Precious Doe's, but since he has not been proven to be Williams's father the authorities are now comparing Precious Doe's DNA to a sample from one of Williams's mother's relatives to acertain that Williams is not the unidentified child. Tests have already been done on the missing African-American children Rilya Wilson and Teekah Lewis and they have been ruled out as potential Precious Does.
In the meantime, Williams remains missing and her case is unsolved.
